The birth of SUKē: the cultural mission behind a silk square

La naissance de SUKē : la mission culturelle derrière un carré de soie - SUKē

One scarf, two worlds

SUKē was born from an encounter at the crossroads of two cultures.
A SUKē scarf is not just a beautiful object. It reflects emotions, memories, and convictions. It is a delicate and sincere bridge between China and France.

Driven by the shared vision of its Franco-Chinese co-founders, SUKē aims to connect the ancestral art of Chinese silk with the understated elegance of contemporary French aesthetics.
In a world of fast and standardized fashion, SUKē wishes to restore meaning to the word "luxury," not as a flashy label, but as a whispered loyalty; not as an object to be exhibited, but as an intimate presence.

A story of attachment: from Sichuan to Paris

Tianming, co-founder of SUKē , was born in Sichuan, China, one of the historical cradles of silk. She grew up immersed in the silk craft, as her family had worked in silk production for generations. Her knowledge of silk comes not from books, but from memory and the traditions passed down through her family.

Having arrived in Paris eight years ago, she quickly became aware of the persistent stereotypes surrounding “Made in China”. This realization rekindled her desire: to help the world rediscover Chinese craftsmanship in all its finesse, through a modern, aesthetic and responsible lens.

Alexandre, co-founder of SUKē , was born in Paris into a multicultural environment. From a young age, he developed a curiosity for Chinese culture, which he deepened through his travels. Confronted with the gap between the Western perspective and Chinese reality, he chose to take action through his profession: design and entrepreneurship, in order to create a brand that blends Chinese and French cultures and promotes them globally.

SUKē, more than an entrepreneurial project, is an act of cultural commitment.

Redefining “Made in China” through excellence

Our mission at SUKē is clear: to restore the prestige of “Made in China” through quality, depth and meaning.
True luxury, in our view, begins with respect for the material, meticulous craftsmanship, and cultural transmission. These are the foundations of the millennia-old tradition of Chinese silk.

Each SUKē scarf is crafted from 16 momme mulberry silk, making this precious material supple, luminous, and fluid. The printing is done using advanced digital techniques to guarantee the fineness of the pattern and colors. This method is also more water-efficient and fully aligns with our responsible approach. The edges are hand-rolled, a hallmark of true luxury, giving the fabric a drape that cannot be achieved by machine.

But the essential point lies elsewhere: each scarf carries a story.
Inspired by Sino-French cultural exchanges, each motif evokes a journey, from the symbols of the Silk Road to the misty mountains of China, to the architectural lines of Paris.

More than just an accessory: a living dialogue

Our first collection of silk scarves doesn't just adorn; it tells a story. Each design illustrates a Sino-French cultural theme, created by Chinese artists and accompanied by an explanatory card. Opening a SUKē box is like opening a journey.

Tomorrow, SUKē will offer other everyday silk objects, always guided by the same common thread: to offer discreet, sincere luxury, nourished by culture and care.

SUKē, or the promise of an intimate journey

The name SUKē comes from two Chinese characters:
« 素 (Su) » — silk in its pure form, simplicity.
« 珂 (Kē) » — the brilliance of jade, discreet but precious.

This name embodies our brand: the balance between East and West, the strength of the gentle gesture, and slowness as a sign of authenticity.

A scarf, when well-chosen, becomes much more than an accessory: it creates a connection. It becomes a silent language between the individual and the world.
And SUKē is the starting point.
